Line up begins at 11 a.m., but you would not be too early if you arrived at 10:30; the parade begins at Noon.
- Where does the parade start?
The parade route starts where 9th Ave., Gansevoort St., Greenwich St., and Little West 12th St. intersect. This is in Greenwich Village, New York City. Click HERE to for a map.
- Who is the sponsoring organization?
VivaVegie Society, a New York City-based vegan advocacy group, which has held 503(c)3 nonprofit status for over 10 years.
- I run a successful vegan-owned company. I'd like to make a donation in exchange for banner space for my logo on stage at the rally following the parade.
The answer to this question is still up in the air. The organizers of the parade have not yet decided to "go commercial" with the parade. The city requires a minimum fee of approximately $11,000 for such a designation. Once we venture into this category, it's a whole other ball game. - I own a vegetarian restaurant in New York City. How can I get involved?
Lots of ways. First of all, you should be marching in the parade—with a banner! Contact the VivaVegie Society (info@vivavegie.org) to have your banner printed (water-proof inks on vinyl). We offer design and printing services. Second: You should have an advertisement in the ad booklet/program guide, which will be distributed at the parade to parade-goers and bystanders both in and along the parade and at the rally in Washington Square Park following the parade. Third, you may want to also have a table at the parade. So far, no food sales will be allowed. Food samples may be given away. Bring lots of menus. Also, restaurants can offer dinner for two as a prize in our costume/poster contest. Any restaurant that offers a prize will be prominantly listed in our program guide. Call 212-242-0011
- I have a suggestion for a speaker / celebrity I know. May I contact that person to and ask if they'd like to be on stage at the post-parade rally in Washington Square Park?
