Take one land-use lawyer, combine with a computer science teacher and his stand-up comedian brother, stir in one well-established political consultant and then mix it all together with a commitment to great food and social justice, and what do you get? V-SPOT ORGANIC – the newest addition to the East Village’s still-cutting edge restaurant scene- located at 12 St. Mark’s Place in Manhattan. V-SPOT’s story is unusual, if not unique. A Brooklyn start-up that came into existence to fill the vegan void in Park Slope’s restaurant community, V-SPOT quickly built a loyal following by offering locally sourced Latin-vegan cuisine that refused to sacrifice flavor. Nine years later, V-SPOT is now following the reverse path of most restaurants, maintaining its Brooklyn flagship while expanding into Manhattan’s Lower East Side with a new ORGANIC restaurant.
